David Christopher Lee has spent 27 years as a celebrity and portrait photographer in Los Angeles. His work is a study in state: the difference between a flat portrait and an unforgettable one is almost never the camera. It is whether the person in front of it drops their guard, settles into themselves and comes alive. Getting people there, quickly and on demand, has been the core skill of his career.
Alongside the photography, David is Editor in Chief of David's Guide and publisher of The Biohack, where he covers longevity and human performance. His editorial title work includes the designation Longevity and Human Performance Expert, and his coaching grows directly out of those two worlds: elite performance and the human state behind it.
His coaching applies the photographer's eye to flow. He works with actors preparing for the camera, founders and executives who present, pitch and lead on camera, and creative professionals whose best work depends on getting into state under pressure.
Sessions are practical and state-based. Typical focus areas include:
Actors and on-camera talent. Founders and executives who present, record or pitch. Photographers, directors and other creative professionals whose output depends on their state. If your work is judged in moments, and those moments are captured on camera, this coaching is built for you.
Based in Los Angeles. Sessions are available in person in Los Angeles and online. Coaching is offered by inquiry so the work can be matched to the project, whether that is a single session before a major shoot or an ongoing engagement around a launch, a tour or a season of presenting.
Coaching is arranged by inquiry. The Work With David page lays out his framework and carries the inquiry form. Include what you are preparing for and your timeline, and you will hear back directly.
